ST. LOUIS (October 7, 2014) ) – Greg Bogue, vice president of experiential design at Maritz Travel Company, which consists of Maritz Travel Meetings & Incentives and Experient, has been honored by Strategic Horizons LLP founders Joe Pine and Jim Gilmore as the winner of the prestigious 2014 Experience Management Achievement (EMA) award.  The EMA award was presented to Bogue during the annual Strategic Horizons thinkAbout event held on September 17-18 in Cincinnati.

"Meetings and conferences are mainstay examples of business-to-business experiences in the Experience Economy,” said Jim Gilmore.  “No company has demonstrated such a keen interest in helping clients stage better event experiences than Maritz Travel, and perhaps no individual within Maritz Travel has pushed for more innovative approaches to event design than Greg Bogue. It's truly deserving that Greg is the 2014 recipient of our Experience Management Achievement award."

As a leader in the meetings, events and incentives industry within the areas of corporate, association, government and tradeshows, Maritz Travel Company has embraced experience design as a way to design and deliver exceptional client experiences. Bogue has been instrumental in leading the company’s experience design thinking and establishing the Experience Innovation Lab, which is the vehicle through which the company assists its clients in rethinking how their events are designed and executed.

"I can't tell you how many times I've received a phone call from Jim, after he has had a conversation with Greg, in which Jim relays some new insightful twist Greg has added to one of our tools or frameworks,”  added Joe Pine. “It's a true sign of mastering our intellectual capital when someone so skillfully applies and extends our thinking as Greg has done."

Pine and Gilmore, authors of business bestseller The Experience Economy: Work Is Theatre & Every Business a Stage established the EMA award in 2005 to recognize individual accomplishment in creating new-to-the-world experience offerings and approaches.  In selecting EMA recipients, they research companies and individuals across all industries who are advancing efforts to move from goods and services to experiences.

“Greg is an energetic leader with excitement for experiential design that resonates throughout our company, ultimately benefiting our clients programs and ensuring they deliver exceptional experiences to their guests,” said David Peckinpaugh, president of Maritz Travel Company.  “Through his expertise in experiential design, Greg is truly transforming the way Maritz Travel Company does business, further positioning us as an industry leader.”
