Picking Perfect Partners

Maritz is thrilled to partner with more than 70 community organizations that provide service opportunities for our employees. To help our people find the organizations that interest them the most, Maritz hosted an Employee community Service fair on April 18.

This unique event featured nearly 60 of those partners, who set up informational booths on our Fenton campus. Employees chatted with representatives from these organizations to find out what they do, what they need and how employees can get involved.

Kim Fuchs, an accountant with Maritz Financial Services, said she attended the fair with a group of coworkers and was surprised at the number of community partners looking for help.

“Maritz does a lot of work with United Way agencies, but there are a lot of other groups we partner with that are looking for volunteers,” Fuchs said.

She was happy to find a group that interested her and was looking for volunteers who could make a one-day commitment.

More than 350 employees attended the baseball-themed fair, which was a chance for them to find nonprofit partners where they can use the paid time off Maritz offers for employee community service (12 hours for each employee).

Each employee received a box of Cracker Jack with a partner scorecard to fill out as they visited nonprofit partners' informational booths. Each score they earned was an entry into a raffle for prizes such as Cardinals staycation in St. Louis and vouchers for Cardinals tickets. Cardinals mascot Fredbird attended the fair, and employees had a great time snapping photos and joking with him. We also offered a hot dog lunch to get in the baseball spirit.

Former Cardinal Todd Worrell attended the fair through our partnership with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and signed autographs for attendees.
