Maritz Gives Back to Teach For America with Annual School Supply Drive

September 12, 2016

Continuing our mission to support programs designed to educate, and to show our support for teachers and students in our community, Maritz employees recently participated in the 10th annual school supply drive benefitting Teach For America.

“Maritz has been a partner with TFA- St. Louis for 10 of our 15 years in existence. They have been one of our best partners, one of our strongest partners, one of our most critical partners to deliver incredible teachers to our classrooms,” said Teach For America Executive Director Brittany Packnett. “Through their financial support, their volunteers and their school supply drive, they touch the lives of over 20,000 students in St. Louis by supporting the work that is happening in our classrooms and beyond. What that really means is they have our teachers backs and our student’s backs, and at the end of the day that’s what really matters.”

This year, Maritz’ four partner schools include Patrick Henry Downtown Academy, Adams Elementary School, Carnahan High School, and Laclede Elementary. In addition to the supplies, Maritz presented Teach For America- St. Louis with a corporate gift of $100,000 to help in its mission to eliminate education inequality. To assist TFA communities beyond St. Louis, an additional $15,000 will be given to TFA-Detroit as well as another $10,000 to TFA-Chicago.
