Steve Maritz Honored with Bill Maritz Award

September 06, 2016

At an awards reception held Saturday, August 27 at the Fabulous Fox Theater, Steve Maritz received the Bill Maritz Award during the Martin L. Mathews Awards Program and Benefit Concert.

Steve was honored with his father’s namesake award because of his dedication to philanthropy and, specifically, his continued support of The Sky is the Limit workshop. This program, hosted at Maritz each year, provides career-minded, young women the professional development guidance they need to attend college and become productive, responsible citizens.

When accepting his award, Steve shared, “I’m honored to accept this award on behalf of Maritz and especially on behalf of my father, Bill. My father started this relationship with Mathews Dickey almost 30 years ago, and I am proud to keep it going and support an organization that is doing so much for the St. Louis community. I am especially proud of The Sky is the Limit program that has helped almost 4,000 young women get started on fruitful careers leading to a better life. This workshop is a great example of Maritz’ dedication to helping people reach their full potential, which is what we are all about.”

Congratulation, Steve! We are honored to have such a great leader in our midst.
