Maritz Global Events Participates in Program to Fight Sex Trafficking

September 16, 2016

The U.S. Department of Justice has identified St. Louis among the top 20 sex trafficking hubs in the United States. This horrible statistic is one of the many reasons Maritz Global Events is leading the fight against human trafficking.

Rhonda Brewer, vice president of sales at Maritz Travel, recently spoke about our efforts at the “Sex Trafficking in St. Louis & Beyond: Funder Strategies & Responses” program hosted by The Gateway Center for Giving.

Brewer emphasized Maritz’ and the entire travel industry’s role in stopping these human rights violations, including our signing of EPCAT – USA’s Tourism Child-Protection Code of Conduct (the Code) in 2014.

Watch the video below as Brewer speaks on the importance the Code plays in our industry and why Maritz Global Events is proud to support this important cause.

Maritz Global Events also appeared on NPR for its work in the fight against human trafficking. Read the blog post here.
