Former HelmsBriscoe Executive Will Guide the Global Leader
in Meetings, Events and Incentive Travel
St. Louis (May 26, 2011) – Today, Maritz announced it has appointed David Peckinpaugh, former vice president of business development for HelmsBriscoe, to president of Maritz Travel Company, the global leader in meetings, events and incentive travel. Peckinpaugh will assume his role June 13 and will be responsible for the leadership, strategic vision and general management of Maritz Travel. Interim president Jane Herod will continue to serve as Maritz Travel’s chief operating officer, expanding her current leadership role within the business.

Prior to HelmsBriscoe, Peckinpaugh served as president and CEO of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and the chief marketing officer of Experient Inc. He is a former board member of PCMA and currently a Trustee of PCMA’s Education Foundation, has served in volunteer roles for the U.S. Travel Association and Destination & Travel Foundation, and is a Convention Industry Council certified meeting professional.
