Maritz Spreads Holiday Cheer at Annual Holiday Lights Celebration

November 27, 2017

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! For the past 15 years, Maritz employees, their family and friends, and a few of our community partners kicked off the holiday season with the annual Holiday Lights Celebration at our Fenton headquarters.

With the flip of a switch, Maritz’ campus comes alive with lights and messages of holiday cheer. As much as we love spreading this cheer, we know the holidays are about more than just lights, candy canes and hot cocoa. During this time of year, we celebrate and thank our community partners, and specifically honor our continued partnership with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, one of the premier children’s hospitals in the United States.

In 2005, we established the Maritz Endowment Fund for Children’s Education, which allows St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide resources to help children continue their education while they are undergoing treatment at their facility. During our annual holiday lighting celebration this year, we presented Children’s with a $10,000 check toward continued support of the fund.

In addition to presenting Children’s with our financial contribution, this year we welcomed the Almond family to help “flip the switch” and light up Maritz’ campus. Tracy Almond, solution strategist with Maritz Motivation Solutions, other family members and son Logan are no strangers to the wonderful work of Children’s Hospital. Logan spent time at Children’s having been born with bi-lateral clubfeet, and received services from the world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mathew Dobbs. Upon Logan’s birth, Dr. Dobbs used the Ponseti Method to treat his clubfeet, and now at the age of 7 Logan is a very active young boy who enjoys playing a number of different sports!

“Logan has been playing sports since he could walk and is on soccer and baseball teams today. That would not have been possible without the help of Children’s and our orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Dobbs, and we cannot say thank you enough,” said Tracy. “We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful hospital right here in town!”

Thank you to Tracy and her family for sharing their story and leading the countdown to flip the switch. We also thank Children’s Hospital for being a valued partner and life-saving contributor to the St. Louis community.

We wish everyone a happy holiday season!
