Maritz Honored with Outstanding Corporate Philanthropic Program
November 11, 2016
Yesterday, we gathered with local community members, organizations and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) to celebrate National Philanthropy Day, a day to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community – for the enrichment of our world.
During the celebration, we were honored with the Outstanding Corporate Philanthropic Program award, which recognizes corporations or corporate foundations that have demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through the encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement.
At Maritz, we’ve always had a strong sense of philanthropic commitment to our communities in which our people live and work, with a special focus on supporting education with our expertise, our time and our dollars. We are incredibly grateful for this honor and want to especially thank three of our philanthropic partners – OASIS, United Way of Greater St. Louis and Teach for America – for nominating us, and recognizing our commitment to listening and supporting community needs in both traditional and creative ways.
In the humbling nomination, Bret Heinrich-- with OASIS at the time-- shared, “Maritz is a leader in innovative corporate philanthropy and employee engagement within the St. Louis region and far beyond by providing thousands of dollars in charitable support and invaluable employee engagement hours in the community each year.” Yet, our philanthropic influence, commitments and community impact wouldn’t be possible without their trusted partnership, and the opportunities they provide for our people to give back in meaningful ways.
Thank you to AFP, our partners, and our community for giving us the chance to share our expertise to help better the St. Louis community and beyond!
