Maritz Named As Winner in St. Louis Business Journal's Best Places to Work

February 08, 2016

Maritz has recently been honored as a finalist for the St. Louis Business Journal’s Best Places to Work Awards! Every year, the Business Journal releases this list of Best Places to Work in St. Louis. As part of the ‘Giant’ category (1,000 or more employees), Maritz is a finalist alongside Commerce Bank, MasterCard, Nestle Purina PetCare Co., Pinnacle St. Louis, and St. Luke’s Hospital.

In addition to the Best Places to Work distinction, the Business Journal introduced three new categories this year: the Community Impact Award, the Advancement of Women Award, and an award recognizing a company’s support of young professionals.

In its’ inaugural year, Maritz has been awarded the Community Impact Award! This award was determined by the data measured in a survey that was administered between Dec. 2015 and Jan. 2016. The data is related to service hours in the last year, percentages of employees participating in service projects, cash contributions made to area non-profits by employees, the number of non-profit boards employees serve on or are members of, and employees’ perception of Maritz community service initiative and overall philanthropic efforts.

This award is a great testament to the commitment our employees show to getting involved with our philanthropic partners. Maritz is very committed to providing benefits that allow our employees time to get involved with our philanthropic partners. The Employee Community Engagement Program allows employees to take up to eight hours of paid time off per year to get involved with our philanthropic partners. “I am especially proud to be named the winner in the Community Impact category because it showcases our commitment to making St. Louis a better place through our philanthropic work. We beat out nearly 150 companies for this award, and it is a great testament to the Employee Community Engagement Program and Maritz’ employees enthusiasm to get involved” said Jennifer Larsen, Maritz Brand and Reputation Sr. Director.

There will be an awards breakfast March 4 to announce the Best Place to Work award winner, so stay tuned for more details on that! To read the full article regarding the finalists in each category along with the winners of the new awards, click here.
